Hi to All
The first of several planned “Getting to Know Your Mobile Phone” short courses was held on Wednesday, 15th February, 2012.
These two workshop sessions were very well attended, and with the help of the young adults from Lindisfarne School, a great lot of knowledge and fun was had by all those involved.
This being the first workshop of seven to be held between February up until September, a lot was learnt as to the kind of things we Seniors what to know about these devices.
The TACT Computer Club ran a follow-up Mobile phone course on the Friday of that week and the nearly twenty people that attended seemed to enjoy it and appeared to go away feeling more relaxed about these things.
I strongly recommend that if you have a mobile phone, no matter what type it is, and you want to know more about how to use it, that you contact the Computer Club on 07 5524 3057 or 0448 353 615 to book your spot, as places are limited to 30 people per session
The February Internet/Email class on Tuesdays at 11:30 am are achieving great improvements in their skills. With a small mix-up with starting dates for February, the following lesson had some first timers and for some others this was their second lesson:
1. Use the internet to navigate to a web site (freeplaymusic.com)
2. Preview some free music
3. Select a tune and download it
4. Save it to our hard drives
5. Create an email
6. Attach the music to the email
7. Send the email and tune to someone else
ALL IN ONE LESSON!!
Sounds like a lot but with the right instruction this is achievable. Of course, students need to practice these skills but with lessons each week it is amazing what can be learnt.
