Absolute Beginners
6pm Tues (no laptops), 9:30 Wed, 9:30am Thurs (no laptops), 9:30am Fri (with laptops)

These courses are designed to cater for those who have never used a computer, or who have very minimal computer skills. If you are just starting out and don't have a clue as to what to do, this is the place where you can learn the basic skills of computing, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and
overcome your fear of the computer.
In these classes you will learn how to turn your computer on and off correctly and develop skills in using
the mouse. You will also work with the formatting ribbon and learn how to change the font style and
size; how to copy and paste and cut and paste text and then save your work.
Beginners
6pm Tues (no laptops), 11:30am Thurs (with laptops), 11:30am Fri (with laptops)
This course is designed for students to progress to after they have mastered the content of Absolute
Beginners and feel ready for new challenges. Tasks covered in this course include organizing icons on
the desktop and creating shortcuts for programmes on your computer. Instruction will also be given
on how to create a letter template; saving, organizing and print your documents. You will learn how to
copy text and pictures from one programme to another, to insert pictures into text and how to insert
a table. Other topics include saving files to a USB memory stick and retrieving them and how to email
a completed document. This course runs over as many weeks as is required in order to complete the
course content.
